Telematics is a high-tech system where additional services such as emergency relief service and remote car check-ups are possible, and where people can enjoy various online services such as voice calls, internet information search, and email by installing a wireless communication module and a GPS receiver in their cars. It's a local industry that is expected of high growth of 70% annually until 2010. It can also be called as a collection of systems on intelligent road information communications that is realized on a wireless platform of mobile multimedia communication. As an example, major American cars are equipped with wireless service prototypes that are controlled by vocal commands, and enables the driver to connect to the internet, send and receive emails, download digital audio and video files, and obtain traffic information while driving the car.
